Last week we were visiting my aunt in Naples, Florida and decided to visit the Botanical Gardens there. We had been to Naples several times but had never been to the gardens - usually the weather is so hot it's pretty tough to think about doing anything that required being outside. This year, the weather was perfect so we decided to go and it was AMAZING!! There was an incredible orchid show going on in the gardens but really it was all fabulous. The tree above is from Brazil - isn't it the just the craziest??

It's almost spring here in south Louisiana and the dandelions are in full bloom - actually, this photo was taken a few days ago so the "blooms" are probably all gone by now - it happens fast once the weather warms up.
I just got back from a big art show in Miami (Coconut Grove Art Festival) and, to be truthful, I'm having a little trouble getting myself back into the studio. Sometimes, the motivation just isn't there! I think I will enjoy the nice weather today and take care of some out-of-studio things that need to happen! If you like that silver thumb ring, you can find it and more of all sizes on my website! Click here to check it out now! Spring is literally right around the corner here in south Louisiana! I went for a walk around the neighborhood yesterday and couldn't resist picking these clover flowers! Not only are they cool looking little flowers, they also are the inspiration for my "clover chain" (aka, "daisy chain") jewelry collection!
I paricipated in the Baton Rouge Arts Market last Saturday and bought these gorgeous pure beeswax food wraps from Alison Landry of the Bee Pure Apiary (www.beepureapiary.com). I used them this week and I loved them as a replacement for Saran Wrap - so easy to use, easy to clean and reusable! Alison says they'll last about a year! That "Jacks" inspired sterling silver bracelet is perfect against the backdrop of the vintage fabric beeswax food wrap! You can get the bracelet in my online store - click here to shop now! I have beome enamored by black jewelry - I just love it. AND it's the perfect time of year for black jewelry - dead of winter, things are dark & dreary in many parts of the country plus, guess what?
Oxidized silver jewelry, aka black jewelry, is completely carefree!! That's right, it's already completely and totally oxidized so you NEVER have to polish it. Sure, you might clean it now & then with a little warm water & soap but that's IT. Nothing else to do to keep it looking like new! These black jewelry pieces will be on the website soon - click here to sign up for the email list so you don't miss it when they hit the website! |
