What is Pantone and what does it have to do with me?

Who or what is Pantone? Lots of people wonder the same thing!  Well, here is the scoop on Pantone!

The Pantone Corporation yearly declares a certain color to be the “color of the year” following a meeting made up of representatives from various nations. (Sounds like fun to me!)

This year,Pantone chose two colors to be the colors of the year:  Rose Quartz (pale pink) and Serenity (pale blue) with the two colors often used together.
 
Here is what Pantone has to say about these colors:
 
“As consumers seek mindfulness and well being as an antidote to modern day stresses, welcoming colors that psychologically fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security are becoming more prominent."
 
But....what does this have to do with me?  Well, the impact of these color choices means that you will very soon be seeing these two colors showing up in everything from clothing to websites to fashion accessories; often the colors will be shown together.
