Don't even get me started...jewelry photography is hard work!
First of all, the jewelry has to be completely still - not a small thing whether you are taking pics of freshwater pearl earrings any sort of bold earrings. If you are photographing earrings that you would like to show hanging, set aside some serious time!
For this photo shoot, I decided to lay these handmade silver earrings down flat & see how that worked. Voila - no movement. I'm not sure if I'm completely happy with the final product yet but it was so much simpler to get good photos.
I am Laura Teague and you may as well know right up front that I am obsessed with sterling silver.
I have been making sterling silver (and sometimes gold) jewelry for about 15 years. I am largely self taught (lots and lots of practice!) but have also taken classes with local and nationallly known metal workers.
Originally from Arkansas I currently live and work in my adopted home state, Louisiana, where we regularly dodge hurricanes but enjoy the wonderful people and food here!
