Over time, a "patina" develops that many people find desirable. At this point, the copper coating resembles the color of an old copper-plated penny. In most climates, it is not feasible to "coat" the copper to prevent the patina from developing. The coating may become sticky or the patina may develop under the applied coating. A simple mixture of household vinegar and a tablespoon of table salt, followed with polishing with a polishing cloth, will clean the copper. The patina will soon return so this will be an ongoing process. Something to think about if you love copper jewelry. 1.stylebop.com 2. www.gap.com 3.www.amazon.co.uk 4. zaful.com 5. black bracelet
This little easy black outfit is comfortable and uber stylish all at the same time. From the A-line dress to the back flats to the flexible handmade black bracelet, it's all great to wear. Lots of movement in these daisy drop earrings in sterling silver, sterling & copper or sterling and gold-filled. I love them in all combinations for pairing with different outfits for every day of the week. How about you?
This is a shirt made of metal rings - armor used in the middle ages. Very strong and very heavy, but still flexible and comfortable to wear (as long you the wearer was strong enough to support the weight! My chain mail jewelry was inspired by these designs for just those reasons - strong, flexible comfort and beautiful to look at! In the spirit of Mardi Gras, I made these little sterling silver and freshwater pearl earrings. Accented with a tiny hand stamped crown, they are perfect to set off your Mardi Gras finery! I thought the case was looking a little "slim" at the Sans Souci Fine Craft Gallery in Lafayette, Louisiana so I took some new jewelry in for the new year!
Everything gets a fresh start in the new year! I have been making these earrings for awhile in sterling silver, gold and black. I decided to feature them today because I have plans in the new year to design a new collection around this idea, to include bracelets, necklaces and more earrings. So stay tuned and look for more to come!
Like all businesses, January is a time for many things: reflecting on the past year, considering things I might do differently or better in the new year, making plans for new jewelry collections and, last but not least, inventory. Not my favorite thing to do but it is necessary and I do get a sense of satisfaction in knowing what I have & what I don't have! It keeps me from having to dig in boxes and bins at shows looking for that special piece of Laura Teague Jewelry for you - with an accurate inventory, I know right away if I have something or if I need to make it for you.
Super cold in my hometown this week! The temperature last night was 16 degrees AND we had snow - that makes twice in one year. I won't think that has ever happened in Baton Rouge. Brrrr!
I think I will stay in and make jewelry today! With sincere appreciation for a happy and successful 2017, I am looking forward with anticipation to 2018. Let's move forward together and see what can happen! So many new things coming our way.
