​Although they can sometimes look a little scary, these mugs are made by my friend, Terri Kennedy of Potterri Studio, one of the most fun people on the planet!

Our booth is set up next to hers at Festival International in Lafayette, Louisiana each April and we have such a blast. And those mugs FLY off the shelves of her booth!

A few months ago, as I was coming home from visiting a friend, I saw a sign for a pop up art/craft show so, of course, I followed the signs until I found it.
The artists were just getting set up but I could see that there was so much fun art! I wandered around, bought a couple bars of handmade soap, a little green pom pom key chain from a woman making weavings and generally had a wonderful time looking at all the art.
Finally ready to leave, I went to my car only to find that I had left the keys in the car....along with my phone. Not good.
I borrowed a phone from one of the artists and called my husband but he was across town it would take an hour to get to me. I could also walk across a major road I go to my friend's house, borrow her car and go get my spare keys at home and return to the where the car was parked.
As I was trying to decide what to do, one of the artists, who had overhead the phone call to my husband, came over and told me she would take me to my house and bring me back. She grabbed her keys, casually asked the artist next to her to "watch her booth" and drove me home - about 20 minutes away.

People ask me all the time which of my jewelry is my favorite. That's a really hard question, mostly because I love all of them; I know that's kind of hard to believe but it's true.

​I have been going through a "white" phase and buying lots of white dishes, some to use for food but mostly just to have around the house to look at.
​I saw this white mug at a store I visited last week - now that will hold a LOT of coffee! Or maybe I will just put it on a shelf and enjoy it. Isn't it just the cutest?

These sterling silver earrings have been in the line up for while now and they are some of my very favorites. 

I think the reason they are my favorites is that they are inspired by that childhood game of 'jacks'. I played jacks for hours with my friends; when I wear these cute silver earrings, they just remind me of those happy days!

Here in south Louisiana it's SO hot in the summertime and the plants are growing like crazy. Our yard has so many azalea bushes and they are almost out of control they are so big and are growing so quickly.

So - they have to be trimmed back. Every year. Even if it's hot. Even if I want to do other things (anything).

Yesterday, I was trimming and realized I was wearing my silver bracelet (one of my favs) and thought I should snap a picture.

Is this jewelry sturdy? Yes.

Does it mind a little (ok, a lot) of heat and humidity? Heck, no.

This is the summer I discovered cold brew coffee. I never liked cold coffee (coffee is supposed to be hot, right?) but then a magical recipe for "cold brew" coffee appeared in my inbox so I decided to give it a try. 

Amazing!! Almost sweet. So satisfying on a hot day! 

This is also the year I discoved how wonderful it feels to sit in the shade of an umbrella on my down back porch. Simple pleasures!

Well, my website "overhaul" is finally at a stopping point!!

All new photos, all new backgrounds - I think the silver jewelry looks so much better in this new format!

Have you heard of the "Big Library" read? Apparently it's been going on for a few years & a book is picked which is then made available to people all over the world - so you can read the same book at the same time with other readers all over the globe! What a great idea!

Anyway, I just finished this book & loved it. Serious subject matter but at times humorous & other times, quite sad but...spoiler alert....happy ending!!

Nothing like a Hallmark story but a Hallmark ending, for sure! I love happy endings.

I was at the library the other day, taking notes for a wonderful class I am taking. Suddenly, I looked down at my paper and saw what I had written.

"Speak Like a Human."

Excellent advice from a gifted teacher - she just has a way of saying things so that I get it!

Don't try to be (or sound like) something or somebody you are not.

I guess it's a version of "Just be Yourself", which I never could wrap my brain around when I was younger. (Yeah, I would think, whatever that is.....)

Now, I think I get it, at least a little.
