The best thing you can do to prevent or slow tarnishing on your sterling silver pieces is to keep them dry. Store them in either an airtight bag or in tarnish cloth with a small desiccant pack tucked in with them to prevent excess moisture from getting to your silver. Take your silver jewelry off before bathing or swimming and store it away from your bathroom or kitchen, where moisture is a problem.
I am Laura Teague and you may as well know right up front that I am obsessed with sterling silver.
I have been making sterling silver (and sometimes gold) jewelry for about 15 years. I am largely self taught (lots and lots of practice!) but have also taken classes with local and nationallly known metal workers.
Originally from Arkansas I currently live and work in my adopted home state, Louisiana, where we regularly dodge hurricanes but enjoy the wonderful people and food here!
