I have been practicing my video skills and I think I'm getting better - just trying to show movement in some of my jewelry designs. This silver bracelet is made in the byzantine design - I love it because it's classic and elegant, not to mention beautiful! Click here to shop the silver bracelets!

I'm home of course, like everyone else I know so I have been doing more cooking than usual. I love to make bread & my son recently introduced me to focaccia sourdough bread so that has been a lot of fun to make (& so delicious to eat)!
This recipe for No-Bake Easy Granola Bars appeared in my inbox from www.CookieandKate.com and I knew I had to try it....they had me at "granola bars"!! I am so glad I did - it was wonderful!!! Chewy and full of good stuff - nuts, oats, vanilla - you know, all the tastiest things! That bracelet is available on my website - click here to go have a look at all the silver! I have recently learned to knit socks and have discovered that it is something I love to do. I t's a small project I can carry with me and just knit a little bit at a time. I get to work with (and, yes, buy) all sorts of absolutely beautiful yarn. I end up with a lovely pair of one of a kind socks to enjoy! If you have ever wanted to try to knit socks, I can recommend the Marly Bird sock knitting series on YouTube. She makes it really easy! Lots of cool chain bracelets in my online store, including the one pictured here! Click here to shop all the bracelets! My older son is a cook. No, he doesn't get paid to cook but he is a super cook. Now & then he sends me a recipe for something he has made that he thinks is simple enough for me to make (I am not particularly a good cook) but that is still tasty. He had been talking about this focaccia bread for awhile and, when he sent me the recipe earlier this week, I jumped right in made it. Talk about GOOD...and SIMPLE!! It's a sourdough recipe and it was wonderful. I am so happy to have a son who can cook!! There are lots of handmade sterling silver bracelets in my online shop - click here to check them all out & do some shopping! I don't know about you, but I have been doing quite a bit of online shopping this week. Since we have to stay home to stay safe, online is the way to go when you need something. In fact, we even had Whole Foods Market deliver groceries to us this week....AND they delivered it the same day we ordered it.
That might have to do with the fact that we live 3 blocks from Whole Foods but I can't be sure. I think I was able to do that because of Amazon Prime although, again, it's hard to be sure. Sometimes the internet is a mystery....:) Looks like I am not the only one ordering online! I had a few packages to send out last week - some cool people are looking for some cool jewelry in the mail this week! That sterling silver chain bracelet is available on my website - click here to check out all the bracelets! I made a big pot of gumbo the other day (because there is no such thing as a small pot of gumbo) and found this container of Zydeco Chop Chop (www.zydecocochopchop.com) in my pantry! I have used it a couple of times & love it - it's all natural and NO salt. Just pure dehydrated herbs and vegetables, ready to use! Perfection in a jar! Exactly what I needed to spice up that chicken & sausage gumbo!
That silver bracelet is available on my website: click here to see all the silver chain bracelets! A few years back, I discovered how easy it is to make sourdough bread. Since then, I make bread 1-2 times a week. I mix it up using different combinations of white and whole wheat flour, oat flour and other wonderful add-ins. My favorite is to add old fashioned oatmeal - it gives the bread a wonderful nutty sort of flavor plus a great chewy texture. So good!
That bracelet and silver stacking ring are both available in my online store. Click here to see the bracelets and here to see the stacking rings! The last time I was at the Baton Rouge Arts Market, back in February, I took photos of my jewelry on other types of art. This is a beautiful piece of pottery by Susan Rodrigue. I love the colors Susan uses in her pottery!
That silver bracelet is part of my "Jacks" jewelry collection, inspired by the childhood game of jacks! It's available in my online store - click here to see the collection! I've been mostly home for roughly a week now and, in addition to making new jewelry, I have a new found love for knitting socks! I have always wanted to learn to knit socks, but honestly, I never thought I would be able to do it. It just always seemed so complicated!
Thanks to a good friend who is a master sock knitter and the help of this most excellent book on knitting socks by Ann Budd, I have finally knit two pairs of socks and have started on the third. Yes, I have had to restart multiple times and, yes, they are far from perfect but I love and wear them so I consider that a huge win! That bracelet is available in my online store - click here to shop the silver bracelets! So the advice to drink more water to try to avoid getting the corona virus is one I can definitely get behind! I was already drinking a lot of water since I had a kidney stone last fall but I am just being sure to absolutely stay on top of it now.
In fact, I have an app that I use to track my water intake - if I don't track it, I will get busy and forget to drink & pretty soon it's 10 at night & I need to drink 30 ounces of water before bed. Not a great scenario! :) If you are interested the app is called Drink Water Reminder. I went through a couple before I found this one - it's free and it works well. That silver link bracelet is on available on the website - click the button below to shop! Love this little white ceramic dish - I bought it recently for a friend who collections frogs. She will love it! Before I put it in my stash of gifts, I tried it out with this new silver bracelet. Perfect size to keep jewelry!
The bracelet is available on my website - click here to check it out! These wonderful vintage books were gifted to me by a friend who was helping a friend of hers downsize last week. It's rare to get nice old books like this - can't wait to dive in & see what info these books have for me!
That silver chain bracelet is available in my online store - click here to check it out! Do you love cilantro as much as I do? I know it's kind of a love it or hate it kind of that but, I gotta say, I love it! I especially love it in homemade quacamole....so good. I love it so much that, on a couple of separate trips, I somehow ended up with not one, not two, but three cilantro plants. Not sure how that happened but not unhappy about it either! Bring on the quacamole!
That silver chain bracelet is on my website right now (click here to see it up close) and that cute little silver stacking ring (aka, silver thumb ring) is also in the store - click here to shop the rings! We were out of town for about 2 weeks a few weeks ago attending the Coconut Grove Art Festival in Miami, Florida and, while we were gone, my cousin stayed at our house for a couple of nights.
Imagine my delight when I got home, after a long day on the road, opened the freezer and found chocolate ice cream!!! I never buy ice cream for the simple reason that I'll sit and eat it until it's gone if it's in the house so this was a huge treat!!! YUM! That silver link bracelet is available now in my online store - click here if you want to shop the bracelet now! Click the button below to join my email list so that you never miss new jewelry when it hits the website! Spring is literally right around the corner here in south Louisiana! I went for a walk around the neighborhood yesterday and couldn't resist picking these clover flowers! Not only are they cool looking little flowers, they also are the inspiration for my "clover chain" (aka, "daisy chain") jewelry collection!
I paricipated in the Baton Rouge Arts Market last Saturday and bought these gorgeous pure beeswax food wraps from Alison Landry of the Bee Pure Apiary (www.beepureapiary.com). I used them this week and I loved them as a replacement for Saran Wrap - so easy to use, easy to clean and reusable! Alison says they'll last about a year! That "Jacks" inspired sterling silver bracelet is perfect against the backdrop of the vintage fabric beeswax food wrap! You can get the bracelet in my online store - click here to shop now! Click the button to join my email list so you never miss out on new jewelry!
It's a process, taking photos of my jnew jewelry. First the right camera (the phone is great for some things, like this candid shot, but for great photos, I had to get a new camera. I love this one but, you know, yes, there was definitely a learning curve! Not to mention the remote shutter release to get rid of that pesky shake that inevitably happens when I push the shutter release button on the camera itself. Finally got everything working yesterday and took the photo below -happy with it!!
Those jewelry pieces will be on the website in February...or maybe before. Sign up for my email list so that you never miss new jewelry on the website! Slowly easing my way into 2020 and getting ready for a huge art show in Miami, Florida. The Coconut Grove Art Festival is one of the biggest in the country and this is the first time I will have my jewelry there so, yeah, I am kind of nervous about it! Not only that, but I am pretty short on jewelry to show there so I am in a little bit of a panic right now.
Anyway, I used to make black jewelry with pearls a few years ago & decided to make some more of this jewelry. I love the combination of black, gold and pearls! These brand new pieces will be on the website very soon so sign up below if you want to be notified when new designs hit the website!! Chimneyville Arts Festival held every December in Jackson, Mississippi is one of my favorite shows for a lot of reasons but one big reason is that I get to reconnect with friends and customers who I don't get to see very often!
These two ladies are both artists and also both fans of Laura Teague Jewelry! On the left is weaver, Lynn Langhoff, of Lafayette, Louisiana, and glass artist Debbie Delashmet, of Jackson, Mississippi. Both ladies are wearing their own Laura Teague bracelets in sterling silver purchased at Chimneyville several years ago. You can check out Lynn's bracelet in my online store by clicking here. Debbie's bracelet is not on the website but you can email me if you want details about that one! Oh, the hours we all spent playing "jacks" when we were kids!!! I love to think about those carefree, (mostly) happy times. With this silver jewelry, I am reminded of those times everytime I wear one of these pieces! So much fun!! Do you remember?? Go here to check out this fun silver jewelry collection!!
I have been having a lot of fun lately making mixed metal jewelry. When I first started making jewelry, I sometimes made silver and copper jewelry but lately I have stopped using much copper, except for special orders. Now, I mostly use a combination of gold and silver or, very recently, rose gold and silver, which is a LOT of fun.
Someone at a recent show mentioned to me that rose gold jewelry (sometimes called pink gold) is kind of old fashioned - it was first used in Russia in the Faberge eggs. It became really popular in the 1920's here in the U.S. in all sorts of jewelry but was especially used in engagement rings. I'm having a good time using this metal now and I'll be using more of it, especially in some larger statement jewelry pieces. The chain bracelet above is currently available on my website and you can click here to check it out. If you want to be the first to know when the larger, "pink gold" jewelry hits the online store, go here to sign up for my email list! This is my personal most favorite bracelet. All my silver chain bracelets are comfortable due to the fact that they are so flexible. This silver bracelet is particularly so people at shows definitely agree with that. I'm not sure if it's the fact that the entire bracelet (each handmade component) is compeletely doubled or if it's that the bracelet is made of two different sized silver rings.
Whatever the reason, it is my clear favorite and you can go here to shop this bracelet on my website! Loving my new bags! Not cheap but I love putting a nice piece of jewelry in one of these bags to send it out as a gift - it makes such a statement!!
That double rope chain comes in two sizes and it such a classic. Go here to shop the medium sized bracelet and here to shop the dainty silver rope bracelet! One of my very favorite art shows is the Chimnevyille Arts Festival in Jackson, Mississippi the first weekend in December every year. It's a beautiful show and the people from Jackson and the surrounding areas come out to start or finish their Christmas shopping!
I think my favorite thing about the show is seeing people shopping and buying gifts for each other. Mothers and daughters as well as husbands and wives come to the show and just have such a good time spending time together. It really kind of gets me in the spirit of the holiday! That silver thumb ring is available in my online store. The large silver chain bracelet is not yet in the store but you can click here to sign up for my email so that you don't miss out when new jewelry hits the website! Just about all of my jewelry designs start with plain coils of sterling silver wire just like this! The wire is cut, shaped, filed and each small piece is then carefully linked together by hand, one at a time, to form a complete piece of jewelry. It can be a tedious process but I love seeing a plain piece of wire turned into jewelry that will be treasured and worn for many years and then handed down for the next generation to enjoy and appreciate. Click on the photos below to see details and shop the jewelry! The necklace featured in the poster is available now in my online store -
